Viewing Spectral Images
Once you have opened the Gemstone Database you can access the spectral images in two ways. The first is at the bottom of the screen. On the bottom left you can see a dark gray box with four buttons in it (Data, Photos, Inclusions and Spectrum Image). When there isn't an image for Photos, Inclusions or Spectrum these buttons remain gray. But when there is an available image the buttons become active. As you can see below, there isn't a Photo image but there are Inclusion and Spectrum images.
The second way to see a spectral image is from the Gemstone Data Page. To get to the Gemstone Data Page click the Data button (see above). On the lower right you will see a spectral button. If it is active it means there is an image available for viewing.
Pressing the button calls up the image. Some stones show two or more possible spectra.
What if you want to see all the spectral images for a certain stone color? Open the Separator. Enter the color of your gem. On the far right you will see a large spectral image. Click it once.
In the image below you see the results. Simply drag the scroll bar on the right to move down so you can see all the images. This makes it easy to compare your stones image with one from the list.
